AP Mid Century Modern is a treasure trove situated within Authentic Provence’s Georgia Avenue address. Filled with original furnishings, lighting, décor, and art from iconic designers including Vladimir Kagan, Osvaldo Borsani, and Paolo Buffa, the collection is curated by the store’s owners, husband-and-wife duo Wolfgang and Susan Hofherr. Vladimir Kagan Rocking Chair
This vintage rocker designed by Vladimir Kagan is made of hand-crafted, polished walnut and was restored, refurbished, and reupholstered in a white bouclé fabric.
Ilse Möbel Sofa Table
This table, to be placed behind a couch, was designed and produced by German furniture manufacturer Ilse Technik Möbel between 1940 and 1950. Made from metal, wood, and brass, the piece has been restored and refurbished.
Galvanized Metal Writing Desk
An unknown artist from Milan designed this Italian brutalist office desk.
Mahogany Cocktail Bar
It’s suspected that Italian architect and designer Osvaldo Borsani designed this cocktail bar and counter. The two ceramic décor pieces and hardware were designed by Federico Quatrain.
Vintage Sputnik Chandelier
This large Murano glass pendant is made of hand-blown, smoked Murano glass.
Paolo Buffa Vintage Chairs
These vintage dining chairs, complete with eye-shaped brass detailing and black faux-fur, are from Milan, between 1940 and 1960.
Sculptural Lounge Chairs
These Mid-Century modern Italian club chairs with tall, spindled backrests come as a pair. They are newly upholstered in white cotton velvet.
Tommaso Barbi Brass Floor Lamps
These unassuming floor lamps are made of hand-crafted, polished brass. While they contain their original light switches, the wires have been renewed.
André Arbus Art Deco Armchairs
These French Art Deco-era armchairs were designed and produced by André Arbus and are newly upholstered in a Lelievre Paris light-green velvet with tulips. The armrests include two egg-shaped décor pieces.
Angelo Mangiarotti Crystal Glass Pendant
This three-tiered pendant is made of 200 pieces of hand-blown clear crystal glass and Giogali glass. The light was designed by Angelo Mangiarotti in Milan between 1960 and 1970.
