In the dining room, Andrée Putnam–designed chairs covered in Christopher Hyland fabric flank a custom-designed table. Mirrored cabinets are through Fred Silberman. A Neil Small facet mirror is through Mondo. Drapery fabric is Kravet.
Prior to renovation, this breakfast room was, according to designer Ross, “dark and dismal.” A custom table, made of reclaimed wood, is set on a stone floor.
The decorators hung a circa-1950 Swedish chandelier in the main stairway landing (above) of the house. The antique Chivari chair is through Fred Silberman. Thank-you cards from artist clients cover an entire wall.
In the master suite, the vaulted space is flooded with natural light from a recessed eyebrow Palladian-style clerestory. Drapery fabric is Kravet. An Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman ottoman is covered in a Zimmer + Rohde fabric. Wall fabric behind the headboard is Lee Jofa Groundworks. Headboard fabric is Pollack. The opposite side of a wall of closets doubles as a headboard for the bed. Custom bookshelves are fronted by a Mrs. MacDougall bench.

The client’s study is defined by a wall of multipaned windows; the antique armchairs, covered in Zoffany fabric, were bought at auction at Bonhams. The chaise is covered in Glant fabric. The sculptures are part of the clients’ personal collection.
In the parlor, an Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman sofa is covered in purple JAB fabric. Neutral wall shades allow the hue, as well as those of a collection of 1930s Boch Frères pottery, to stand out in full relief. A Roman Thomas Avery chair is covered in a Nancy Corzine fabric and sits next to the Facet table from Profiles. Drapery fabric from Zimmer + Rohde.
In keeping with a client request for a classic toile, the decorators used the pattern in a solarium, even on the ceiling. Sofa and wall fabric are Christopher Hyland. Lighting is through MSK Illumination. Ottoman and armless sofa are custom through Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman.
The wife’s dressing room features upholstered closet doors and a Brunschwig & Fils floral-motifcovering on the center bureau. Closet doors are upholstered in Carnegie Fabrics’ Xorel. The antique chandelier is through Macklowe Gallery.
A custom Beauvais rug not only brings the parlor together in terms of color, but also defines the main seating area. Trumpet table lamps are through John Salibello, circa 1960. Coffee table is through Studium.
