A Jolt of Vitamin C

Designers juice up spring collections with bright splashes of orange

Once relegated to nobility to show social standing, orange is now the season’s hot color. According to most feng shui experts, orange represents fire, evoking deep imagination, so it’s no surprise creative fashion designers like Carolina Herrera, Tory Burch, Prada, Marc Jacobs and
J. Crew are showing variations, from deep OJ to pale peaches and corals. Accent your wardrobe with a bright necklace or clutch, or choose a tamer shade in a coral or peach lipstick or nail polish. Interior designers are also embracing the trend. Paul Romano, vice president at Quadrille Wallpapers and Fabrics, says: “Orange is a soothing and happy color. It is a great application color for our fabrics. So whether it’s a trend or not, we love it for our fabrics. It makes every sofa and pillow pop.” Whether you choose to wallpaper an entire room, paint accent panels or simply add a pillow, a slice of orange is the color for your home and your closet!
