Raw poplar adds interest to the living room’s fireplace wall and ribbed, vaulted ceiling. A controlled palette of pale, cool tones prevails among the clean-lined furnishings, which are enhanced by silvery metallic details.
The dining room boasts a nine-foot ceiling, an agate chandelier by Ironies and a custom round rug by Madeline Weinrib.
The media room is a bright lounge rather than a darkened cave, with luxe décor including faux fur pillows, a shag rug and a shell-topped coffee table by Oly Studio.
The kitchen’s bold stroke: removing a dropped ceiling and using the revealed structural beams to create more interesting architecture. The kitchen is by Hampton Design, with Mabley Handler consulting on finish materials to tie the vision into the rest of the house.
The bath’s custom marble tub, with its silvery grain, echoes the “sophisticated beach” theme.
In the glamorous master bedroom, the designers ran raw silk wallpaper up and around the slanted part of the tray ceiling, which is divided with flat panel molding to heighten the drama. The room hints of Hollywood Regency, with its modern four-poster bed, mirrored console by Oly Studio.
A tufted velvet chaise by Kravet and sumptuous fabrics by Nancy Corzine. Sea fans and laser-cut shells by artist Karen Robertson are sandwiched in glass frames.
