Designer Isaac Mizrahi imparted tips on style at the annual Fall Luncheon of the Central Park Conservancy’s Women’s Committee, the autumn answer to the popular springtime “hat” luncheon. Over 350 guests assembled not in the park itself but on a high floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in a room with windows looking down over it. With summery red roses on the tables, barely a single yellow leaf in sight on the park trees below and the thermometer nudging 70 degrees, the temperature posed a challenge for those customarily dressing for the event in favorite new fashions for the upcoming colder season. Undaunted, guests showed off various of choices of transitional autumn style.

Co-chair Paige Hardy was among the attendees wearing versions of the all-season sheath.

Proving that Labor Day is no longer the “deadline” for wearing white were co- chair Sharon Jacob and several other guests.

Heading into the season of furs and tweeds were co-chair Suzie Aijala and others.

There were several versions of this season’s popular geometrics styles.

Chanel classic styles are always popular.

Generating interest were jumpsuits, an Oriental pantsuit and intriguing back details.

Models showed off jewels for sponsor Van Cleef & Arpels.

As for hats? Well, except for sunglasses slung overhead, we found only a single item of headgear, just a teaser for next spring’s Hat Luncheon extravaganza.
