Notable Financier Seeks $63M for New Bird Streets Stunner Designed by Woods + Dangaran

It’s hard for most people to imagine building or owning a home worth over $50 million. But, financier Josh Gilinski is used to numbers of this magnitude. As the son of billionaire Colombian banker and real estate developer Jaime Gilinski Bacal, Gilinski has seen incredible homes and properties all over the world. So, when it came to building his own L.A. home, it’s no surprise he tapped the acclaimed architecture/interiors studio Woods + Dangaran to design a modern masterpiece.

While Gilinski planned for the gorgeous Hollywood Hills spot to be his primary residence when in L.A., he is spending more time in Miami these days. That leaves the pristine new build available to buy, priced at a staggering $63 million.

Perched in the coveted Bird Streets enclave, the estate carries a clear sense of Zen from its city-to-ocean views to its landscaping. While the pool area and patios may seem like the main al fresco star, there are other outdoor havens to explore across the 15,400-square-foot home. The atrium, centered around a 50-year-old Jacaranda tree and complemented by ferns and Japanese maples, is a hidden gem. Thanks to soaring walls of glass, this outdoor oasis harmonizes with the warm, neutral-toned interiors. Vast rooms hold much to admire in their own right, boasting materials like Turkish travertine and rift sawn white oak.

To those who get to experience Nightingale in person, the home may feel more like a five-star spa. Especially as it also offers wellness-oriented technologies including air and water purification systems. There are also eight bedroom sanctuaries to retreat to, no doubt eliciting “pinch-me” moments when you wake up in them.

At this price point, highlights like the discreet entry and sultry spots for entertaining are to be expected. After all, what $63 million L.A. home wouldn’t have a plush home theater? What buyers might not expect are the fire-resilient features, which are unfortunately more and more critical in California today.

The seller may have changed his plans, but this collaboration with Woods + Dangaran is just the beginning. Gilinski hopes to work with the renowned firm again in the future on his home in Miami. Aaron Kirman of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California holds the listing.
