The five Lau children jump for joy in their color-saturated playroom. Sitting atop a Stark rug, the Crate & Barrel sofa and chair are upholstered in Donghia’s Hamaca Rojo fabric. Caroline Harris, the daughter of the home’s architect, painted the children’s portraits.
The kitchen’s French steel stools, from Avant Garden in Pound Ridge, are based on moulds from the 1930s.
The Parsons-inspired yellow lacquered dining table is available through Keller Brown. Bertoia side chairs are from Design Within Reach. The kitchen pendant lights are from Ann-Morris.
The house’s color scheme was inspired by Perry Burns’ Yellow Dance, which hangs in the living room. Camomile Hixon’s Poof! rests above the fireplace. A French Empire bergère, circa 1810, is covered in Scalamandre’s Uppsala fabric. The George Smith Club Chair is upholstered in Manuel Canovas’ Safari fabric.

In the living room, custom O’Henry House sofas are upholstered in a Pierre Frey linen. Antique chairs from Florian Papp are covered in Michael Devine’s Gramercy print, in chocolate. Custom chandelier is by Studio Steel in New Preston.
The master bedroom is a muted respite. A George Smith chaise is upholstered in Norris linen. Keller Brown’s signature custom “petticoat” treatment drapes a window in Rogers & Goffigon fabric. The rug is from Elizabeth Eakins’ Seed collection; table and throw from Yellow Monkey.
In a boy’s bedroom, a mid-century painted glass “llama” lamp sits on the polished repurposed steel panel and tubular steel console, both from Avant Garden.
In a girl’s bedroom, the Gustavian bed is from Country Swedish; window shades and club chair are upholstered in John Robshaw’sJohn Robshaw’s Mathura Kashmir print. Vintage painted chandelier is from New Canaan’s Odesmith & Richards.
On the porch, vintage wrought-iron furniture was sandblasted and powder-coated by Greenwich Metal Finishing and upholstered in Kravet’s soleil canvas. The hanging lanterns and orange grill are from Crate & Barrel. Rattan trunk is from Avant Garden.
