Interior Palette

C&G asked interior Designers to reveal their go-to color for their current projects

“RIght now I am loving rich, saturated jewel tones: Lapis, emerald, deep mink—especially in rich fabrics like a silk velvet, very ‘Park Avenue!’” —Lynne Scalo, Lynne Scalo Design

“I am loving orange and blue. These contrast one another on the color wheel. Warm and cool are combined in an energetic way to get noticed! I like using clear, crisp, citrusy oranges and deep indigos. I am also loving now: deep fuchsias + purples + black. Purples and fuchsias add opulence, pinks and lavenders provide soft comfort, and the black is just pure sophistication.”
–Amanda Nisbet, Amanda Nisbet Design, Inc.

“sherwin williams black fox is a deep and rich shade of dark chocolate
with just enough gray in the mix to hush any tones of red. Because of this, it forms great relationships with other cooler tones of blue-grays, like Benjamin Moore’s Metropolitan.” —Susan Ferrier of McAlpine Booth Ferrier Interiors

“Because it is so dreary outside in winter, we are keeping it cheerful by infusing our interiors with color. We are obsessing over high-gloss peacock blue, mossy greens in lush velvets, and rich yellow silks! There is no need for the winter to feel drab!
—Lynn Morgan, Lynn Morgan Design

“All of us at DGG love grays…soft grays, strong grays, varying hues. Gray makes a great base, and for an unexpected pop of color we like to add orange.” —Kerry Delrose, Delrose Design Group

“Neutral shades tend to recede, so art and architecture come into focus. My ideal wall color would be pale linen, or sand.”
—John Barman, John Barman Inc.

“Right now I am enjoying anything blush! This soft shade of pink translates to any style room—from a child’s room to a very sophisticated living room.
 —Philip Gorrivan

“We are daydreaming of being in the Caribbean
with all the wonderful shades of blue—of the water and sky—
so we are loving indigo and chambray blues, with touches of aqua
mixed with lots and lots of white.”
—Petra and Whitney Roberts, Boxwood Interiors
