Rob Southern and Bill Melnick’s house, built by modernist architect Horace Gifford in the 1960s, was raised more than six feet above the property. Landscaping is by Michael Victor Ruggiero.

In the dining area, a paper and bamboo Noguchi ceiling lamp hangs above a hand-crafted Central Station Interiors Trapeze table from ABC Carpet & Home. The vintage chairs, a flea market find, are covered in Holly Hunt’s Great Plains linen in Weathered in Haystack.
Southern’s bedroom features a custom four-poster and a pair of Hans Wegner chairs.
Both master suite bathrooms have showers sheathed in black tile from Urban Archaeology and teak stools from Design Within Reach.
The sleek kitchen includes industrial iron stools from ABC Carpet & Home, Akurum cabinets from Ikea, and a Franke sink.
The pool features a wraparound bench, with outdoor furniture from Restoration Hardware, and umbrellas from Thayer’s Hardware & Patio in Bridgehampton.
