The West Village apartment of late actor James Gandolfini, best known for his award-winning role as mob boss Tony Soprano, has secured a buyer. After nine months on the market, Mansion Global reports the condo sold for $6.2M, slightly under the $6.4M asking price. Gandolfini and then-wife Marcy Wudarski Gandolfini renovated the residence after purchasing adjoining units in the building and combined them to create one expansive space. The project resulted in the sprawling four-bedroom, 3,166-square foot apartment. After the couple’s divorce, Marcy gained ownership of the condo and briefly rented it out for $21,000 per month in 2015.The listing, held by Stephen Ferrara and Clayton Orrigo of Compass, highlights the “abundant natural light” in the 30-foot-long great room. A window seat, tucked in the corner, gazes out onto the bustling streets of the city. The cozy nook comes as a peaceful contrast to the grandeur of the massive room. The kitchen, situated off the main living area, is equipped with Sub Zero and Viking appliances and sits next to the dining room. Down a hallway, past the den and the smallest of the three additional bedrooms, is the extravagant master suite. The luxurious space features an en-suite bathroom, dressing room and walk-in-closet.There are many benefits the new owner will reap after moving into the spacious apartment. A major draw is the desirable West Village location, near popular places such as the Whitney Museum and High Line Park. The area offers no shortage of delectable restaurants and celebrated sights.
