The universally talented Lucy Liu is well known for her elegance as well as her roles in films like Charlie’s Angels and Kill Bill, and Set It Up. The actress, activist, and gifted artist, who currently has an exhibit in the National Museum of Singapore, recently decided to dabble in the world of real estate. Unlike her many successful ventures, this one didn’t quite go to plan. Originally listed at the optimistic price of $4.199 million, the circa-1950s Los Angeles home just sold for a discount: $3.06 million. While the Studio City house didn’t sell for the desired price, it is certainly a stunner. A statement making entryway with an artistic mural greets visitors. The four-bedroom, five-bathroom, 4,098-square foot home features intricate tilework that leads you into the huge, top-of-the-line kitchen. A cozy breakfast nook off the kitchen boasts large windows facing lush gardens outside and eye-catching black and green subway tiles that decorate the walls. It’s the perfect spot to wake up with a hot cup of coffee in the morning. Dark crown molding continues throughout the adjoining living and dining areas and into the home office. A separate family room with beautiful white, pressed tin ceilings adds a grand touch to the artist’s home. The outdoor space is no less breathtaking as the eclectic indoor design. A stone deck flows into a combined pool and spa, while a serene, teal painted teahouse, surrounded by a canopy of trees and abundance of greenery, overlooks the water.Liu purchased the residence back in 2001 from Academy Award-winning Patricia Arquette. The new owner has yet to be identified, but perhaps it has once again stayed in famous hands.Scott Segall and Fredrik Eklund of Douglas Elliman had the listing. The sale was first reported by Variety.
