Matt Lauer Buys Richard Gere’s Hamptons Estate for $36.5 Million

Matt Lauer’s most recent addition to his Hamptons real estate repertoire (he already owns an equestrian facility called Bright Side Farm in Water Mill) is Strongheart Manor, a 6.3 acre spread in North Haven.  The property was first listed by former owner Richard Gere in 2013 for $65 million, but was picked up by Matt Lauer for $36.5 million last month, reports The New York Post.

Nestled on a tranquil waterfront property in North Haven, just minutes from the vibrant village of Sag Harbor, Strongheart Manor’s 6+ acres include two guesthouses, an island-style tea house, a private dock, tennis court and 300 ft of private waterfront.

The 14,000-square-foot main residence has been recently updated and now boasts energy-efficient upgrades along with plenty of entertaining space, a library, exercise room, finished basement and 12 bedrooms and bathrooms.  A full-length screened in porch completes the Lauers’ new Hamptons getaway.
