The 2,700-acre, one-of-a-kind property that Michael Jackson called home for 15 years just hit the market for $31 million, which is a far cry from the $100 million it asked in 2015. Since that confident price didn’t catch buyers, the next attempt was an asking of $67 million. Now, with a change of brokerage, the California estate is once again seeking a buyer with an even more discounted price tag.Not only is the property for sale, but it happens to have hit the market right before HBO’s documentary series Leaving Neverland is set to air. The two-part series tells the story of two boys, now men, who claim they were molested by the pop legend at Neverland Ranch. Mr. Jackson’s estate has fought the documentary, insisting his innocence and filing a breach of contract based on a 1992 contract HBO had with Michael Jackson that included a nondispargement clause, Mansion Global reports. It looks like the documentary will see the light of day, however, and soon since it’s scheduled to air on March 3rd and 4th.Located just north of the town Los Olivos, the massive estate is now called Sycamore Valley Ranch and has received numerous updates and changes while keeping some of Jackson’s whimsical elements. Jackson tricked out the property with amenities like a train station and amusement park rides. The rides no longer stand, but you can still find the fire department building, 1950s-style fire truck, swimming pool, train station, and 5,500-square-foot movie theater. The 12,598-square-foot main house where Jackson lived boasts six bedrooms, seven baths, and 2 half baths. Three separate guest homes offer plenty of space for hosting guests and the grounds are undeniably impressive with immaculately landscaped gardens and a marvelous four-acre lake with a waterfall.Despite the controversy that surrounds this property, there is nothing else like it in the world and the potential is endless for a new owner. “This truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own one of the most pristine 2,700-acre ranches in Southern California with total privacy and wildlife galore,” says listing agent Suzanne Perkins of Compass, who shares the listing with Kyle Forsyth .
