Singer-Songwriter Ingrid Michaelson Lists an L.A. Gem for $4.3M

If you’re house hunting in La La Land, this new listing might make you sing. Ingrid Michaelson is selling her chic, Spanish-style Hollywood Hills home. The singer-songwriter, known for hits like “Maybe” and “Be OK,” is not the only celebrity to have resided at this pad. Actress Ashley Tisdale also once lived here. Time will tell if another celebrity will be the next inhabitant of the residence, now asking $4,295,000.

Built in 1928, it is an original Charles Toberman home, which is quite the find. But, the 3,520 square-foot home has been redesigned to include three bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths. The third bedroom has been used as a recording studio. Other high notes include French doors to capture the views, a walk-in dressing room, and a stunning kitchen with modern appliances.

Privacy is front-of-mind at this celeb-approved abode. Nestled in a small enclave called Outpost Estates, the gated property isn’t visible from the road and the home is behind a private courtyard. However, that doesn’t affect its own visibility. It boasts sweeping views of Downtown Los Angeles, the Griffith Observatory, and the Capitol Records building.

The 44-year-old singer bought the home in 2019, according to Bloomberg. Her brother and his family were planning a move to the area, “so I figured I would sort of beat them to the punch and get something out there so that I could be near my family,” Michaelson told Bloomberg. However, while Michaelson spent COVID lockdowns at the home, her brother never ended up moving. Now, she doesn’t spend much time on the West Coast, especially since she wrote the music for The Notebook, which is now on Broadway.

Eric Lavey of Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing, which has been beautifully staged by Francesca Grace Design.
