Train’s Lead Singer Wants $8.2M for a Harmonious Lake House in the Pacific Northwest

Pat Monahan, who is the lead singer of pop rock band Train, is selling his lake house in Washington state. The “Drops of Jupiter” crooner and his wife, Amber Monahan, aren’t moving far, but are selling their Lake Sammamish property to move closer to Amber’s parents in the area, according to listing agent Todd Rauch.

The rustic retreat encapsulates Pacific Northwest living, with an emphasis on connecting to nature. Interior details include fir-wrapped beams, wood finishes, and plenty of stone. “When we bought the house there was not much there,” Pat Monahan says. “We did a lot of remodeling, and we took the bulkhead down to turn it into a proper beach, which is better for the environment.” Now, the five-bedroom, five-bathroom home boasts the ultimate outdoor living area, including a hot tub, barbecue, fireplace, and private dock.

While Monahan’s hit songs are known by many, he has enjoyed privacy and peace at this relaxing residence. “It’s located near the lake’s sunken forest, so we never have fast boats going by. It’s very quiet in that part of the lake,” he says. However, it’s easy to assume invited guests stay a while, and don’t just “Drive By.” After all, the lower level of the house is an entertainment destination, with a wine cellar and second kitchen, that opens to the epic backyard.

The musician currently has a room in the house dedicated to his extensive music career. A piano and a number of guitars fill the space, while Grammys adorn the fireplace. One of his favorite features? The home’s elevator. “I use when bringing cases of wine to the wine cellar or bringing bags up the bedrooms after traveling,” Monahan says.

For those interested in having a lake retreat or primary residence in the Pacific Northwest, this pad is asking $8,198,000. Todd Rauch and Karl Lindor of Windermere Real Estate share the listing.
