Combining adjacent properties seems to be all the rage these days, and the owners of two neighboring homes in the East Village with some major Olsen twin history are ready to get in on the action.Mary-Kate and banker husband Olivier Sarkozy snagged the townhouse at 123 East 10th Street in 2012 for $6.25 million, but never actually moved in. Funny enough, the pair rented the townhouse next door, 125 East 10th, until moving on entirely from the area and settling in Turtle Bay. The current owners of 123 East 10th, artist Aaron Young and fashion entrepreneur Laure Heriard Dubreuil, have listed their townhouse $7.695 million, and the other is simultaneously for sale for $8.3 million, so buyers have the option to purchases them both for $15.995 million.Constructed side-by-side in 1854 by architect James Renwick, Jr., the man behind St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the townhouses are both part of the St. Mark’s Historic District. As such, they feature wrought iron fences and front doors, as well as Juliet balconies just above on the second story. Both clock in with 4,200-square-foot floor plans, and the similarities don’t stop there; they both have been tastefully and extensively renovated and decorated by the artsy current owners, with spacious kitchens and soaring ceilings.Making the purchase of both properties together all the more formidable would be the combination of the homes’ rear terraces, thus forming one of the area’s largest private gardens.Mark Thomas Amadei and Jonathon Hettinger of Sotheby’s International Realty have one listing, while Jason Haber and Nicole Durosko of Warburg Realty have the other. The New York Post first reported the #twinning listings.
