3. Cheyne Lantern
This antique-inspired lantern is hand fabricated from brass with choices of nickel plate, bronze, or distressed zinc finishes. Subtly detailed, upon closer inspection you’ll see that it is decorated with foliage beneath a petal shaped smoke cap and a beaded collar.
Graceful and elaborate, the Anjou chandelier is defined by its pressed leaves, not to be confused with the signature sculpted leaves you’ll see throughout Vaughan’s collections. Leaves are incorporated into the brand’s pieces using a variety of artisanal techniques, each creating a different effect. This chandelier is shown with a rich gilt finish, but it is also available in rust.
Based on an original piece Vaughan discovered in a French market, this chandelier centers around a heart-shaped body. It’s hand-formed from heavy gauge steel using a traditional blacksmithing technique, with the rusted effect adding depth and gravitas.
A sublime pick for both modern and traditional interiors, it doesn’t get more versatile than the Zurich lantern. Its clean lines and elegant shape show off skillfully hand-blown glass and a brass interior shade. Beautifully crafted and carefully made, this fixture would be a wonderful addition to any home.
Hand-applied sculpted leaves have become an ionic motif in the Vaughan collection, and the Colombier chandelier shows this design element off in a sophisticated and contemporary way. Its asymmetrical design creates a complex and chic look, perfect for a dining room, primary suite, or foyer. Versatile as well, it is available in brass, bronze, nickel and chalk white painted finishes.
Another example of the stunning leaf motif, this piece was inspired by a Parisian antique. It’s easy to envision it in the sunroom of a Provencal manor or in the great room of a London townhouse. Able to create a whimsical yet grand atmosphere, the piece can be made with 9 lights or 21 lights (in green and ivory only). In the smaller size, it also comes in silver.
The use of abruptly curved lines in this chandelier is one-of-a-kind and oh-so-enchanting. It pays homage to a chandelier that was seen in a church in the South of France, now bringing that French countryside flair to interiors all over. The hand-carved and hand-painted wood adds a rustic texture while the contrast of distressed white and gold leaf gilded droplets is tonally striking. It comes in two sizes.
Taking inspiration from England’s long history as style tastemakers, meet a lantern based on an 18th-century English antique. Imagine it in an wood-paneled library or bright foyer today, but also how it could easily fit into an English castle or country house centuries ago. Crafted to last the test of time, the hand-built frames are silver soldered and hold the curved glass panel.
For a lantern with more ornamentation, consider this truly decorative piece. The delicate leaf and flower details encasing the lantern showcase its ivory white finish. When the lantern is on, the white hue becomes soft and warm as it glows.
Reminiscent of a glistening glacial waterfall, this beautiful creation is made of hand-textured glass cylinders cascading from the customizable frame. It can be ordered in different tier combinations upon request, allowing it to fit your space and needs to a T.
Vaughan’s signature sculpted leaf motif shines again in the Montferrat. Vaughan finds inspiration everywhere. For the Sorbonne Chandelier, it was a piece of 20th-century glass that gave way to this dynamic and uplifting design. The glass is hand-blown into individual horseshoe shapes, which cascade from a nickel frame for an effortlessly glamorous effect. It can be ordered with four lights or one light.
The name of this light fixture carries a certain sense of legacy, which makes sense as it is based on a 19th-century, six-sided original lantern. Made superbly, the exceptional brass casting is highlighted in the feathered top and leaf-like coronet. Naturally bringing to mind palm trees or perhaps pineapples, it has a palpable tropical feel that would be perfect for a beach house project.
This spherical beauty is a popular piece that works in many spaces. Picture it in kitchens, kids’ rooms, or laundry rooms—it adds a splash of joy anywhere. The pendant is hand-pierced and fret sawn, and available in silver or brass. Inspired by a 17th-century English light Vaughan found at auction, what was once an obscure antique is now a look that can be enjoyed in many high-end homes.
Valere, meaning “to be strong” in Latin, shows that strength can be delicate. Hand-pressed glass drops diffuse the light, allowing for a soft glow. It can enhance a coastal project or work in homes of any location to add a gorgeous, textured glass moment. Available in as two-tier or four-tier, and in a wall light style, you can incorporate this fixture in a myriad of ways.
If you love the leaf motif, but are in search of a lantern, fear not. Vaughan has designed fixtures to display their iconic hand-applied sculpted leaves in a variety of formats. Beyond its rectangular frame, the Sherwood lantern is known for its lovely character and texture made by the randomly pitted metalwork. It comes in brass or chalk white.
The style of the 1940s is so distinct from the hair and makeup to the clothes. This highly-decorative piece is based on a ’40s antique and can bring some of the decade’s elegant pizzazz to your spaces. It’s made of glass rods with a mirror base. The crown and base metalwork comes in brass, bronze, or nickel to fit your preference.
The final one of the leaf motif fixtures we’ll include, Windermere is last but certainly not least. The foliate design is organized and organic at the same time, spaced out to allow the individually-pressed maple leaves to dance and meander down the hand-fabricated frame. It’s hand-painted gilt finish with the leaves is simply radiant, almost nodding to the brilliant mythical setting of Olympus.
A trip around the world and through time, Vaughan’s collection covers a spectrum of styles and eras yet almost every piece has a signature aesthetic. Clean lines, streamlined simplicity, and a purity of form define their design philosophy. Vaughan light fixtures are renowned for their timeless qualities, rarely affected by fleeting trends.
However, one pivotal trend the brand is proud to embrace is sustainability, which will never go out of style. More than 90% of Vaughan products are made from recyclable materials. Vaughan’s pieces, by their very nature, being made predominantly from brass, glass, and ceramic are all easily and readily recyclable, too. Vaughan also uses alabaster, wood, ceramic, linen, and silk—all natural products.
