Upon entering longstanding Dublin hotel, The Westbury, Waterford Crystal chandeliers dazzle overhead. The glamorous fixtures have been hanging in the lobby since the hotel’s inception in 1984. Now, the hotel is undergoing a renovation slated to be complete by June 2026.
The interior refresh blends mid-century modern elegance and Art Deco glamour. The hotel’s crown jewel is the 1,400 square-foot P.V. Doyle Suite, complete with a cocktail bar and private concierge. There are also 18 brand-new Signature Suites—a couple of them boast private outdoor terraces).
Inside there are three eateries: Wilde (delicious seafood), Balfes Bar & Brasserie (all-day bistro), and The Sidecar (named “2025 Hotel Cocktail Bar of the Year” by Bar of the Year Awards). The hotel also offers afternoon tea in The Gallery.
The Doyle Collection was founded in 1959 by P.V. Doyle and now includes eight hotels in Ireland, England, and the United States. Today, his daughter, Bernadette Doyle Gallagher continues his legacy as Chairman of the group—and is overseeing the transformation of The Westbury.
