Airbnb Is Offering a Once-in-a-Lifetime, Free Stay in Brontë Country in Celebration of “Wuthering Heights”

Whether you’re a bookworm with a penchant for classic literature or simply appreciate an intense love story, the release of “Wuthering Heights” starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi is likely on your radar. Luckily, the wait is nearly over. Director Emerald Fennell’s film, which is based on the dramatic novel by Emily Brontë, hits theaters tomorrow.

In celebration of this highly-anticipated film adaptation, Airbnb is inviting three groups of up to two people to stay in the heart of Brontë Country in West Yorkshire—where much of the movie was filmed—for a free, once-in-a-lifetime getaway.

In the same vein as their imaginative offerings for Shrek’s swamp and Barbie’s DreamHouse, Airbnb will welcome guests for overnight visits in “Cathy’s Bedroom.” Together with Warner Bros, they created an exact replica of the bedroom set used for the movie within stately Holdsworth House to give fans a theatrical and immersive experience.

Far from the moody vibe of the moors nearby, which feature heavily in “Wuthering Heights,” the room is fanciful, pink, and a bit quirky. It looks like a Valentine’s Day card come to life. While visiting, guests will also be offered a traditional Yorkshire afternoon tea and a candlelit dinner inspired by the atmosphere of Thrushcross Grange to further the romantic feel.

But, like Cathy and Heathcliff, you will get to experience the untamed side of West Yorkshire, too. Couples will venture out on a horseback ride across the wild moorlands, plus enjoy a special listening of Charli xcx’s “Wuthering Heights” album crafted for the film. Of course, you can’t come all the way here without paying homage to the author herself. A visit to Brontë Parsonage, the family home where the Brontë sisters lived and wrote, is included as well as a playful send-off breakfast. Next stop? Perhaps head on to nearby Yorkshire Dales National Park where Robbie and Elordi filmed epic outdoor scenes.

Cathy’s Bedroom can be booked on February 20 on a first-come, first-served basis. The three lucky groups who are selected will have separate, one-night stays between February 27 and March 4.
