Alec Baldwin’s Ultra-Private Amagansett Estate Relists for $19M

Alec Baldwin is starting the year off with a new attempt to sell his Hamptons estate in Amagansett. The gated property—spanning 10 acres and boasting over 10,000 square feet of living space—first wanted $29 million in 2022, then listed last January for $24.9 million before getting another price adjustment to $22.5 million. After taking it off the market in September, Baldwin has now relisted the residence for $18.95 million.

Overlooking an agricultural preserve, the shingle-style home is afforded great privacy, which may have been part of the allure when Baldwin purchased it in 1995. But, why guess what he loves about it? The marketing for this most recent listing includes a video of Baldwin speaking on his history in the Hamptons, starting with when he first started coming to the area in the ’80s. After renting for a time, he purchased his first cottage in Amagansett before upgrading to this residence in 1995. The movie star immediately expanded the circa-1740 house with an addition in 1996, then he and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, executed another addition in 2014 to bring it to its current standing.

“I fell in love with this place the moment I came here,” Baldwin shares in the listing’s video while walking his bucolic grounds. “This is the main family home of the former Potter Farm, the Potter family. You just can’t get this out here anymore, you can’t buy big pieces of land, especially in Amagansett that I know of.”

Indeed, the home feels much more like a countryside retreat than a Hamptons beach house, but that’s integral to its charm. “It’s a very, very low-density area and I love coming here. I’m always happiest when I come here, especially this time of year. I love it in the wintertime because it’s so peaceful and it’s so beautiful.”

Summer is no doubt a treasured season at the estate as well with 1,276 square feet of covered porches, a pool and spa, and fenced vegetable gardens to utilize. On rainy days, entertaining guests is also no problem thanks to spaces like the movie theater and wine-tasting room.

Scott Bradley and Michael N. Cinque of Saunders & Associates represent the A-lister’s listing. Bradley adds, “There is more than meets the eye here, a lot more—the buyer can build an entirely separate 10,000 sq. ft. home, architectural plans for expanding the existing home, plus SCHD approval for up to 10 bedrooms. Not to mention the unique equestrian/agricultural access afforded by the surrounding reserve.”
