Some properties are diamonds in the rough, but 15 Dune Road in Bridgehampton could never be accused of being that. Not only does it hold one of the Hamptons’ most prestigious addresses, but the modern beachfront mansion was built and long owned by the late Ara Arslanian, a prominent businessman in the international diamond trade and a dedicated collector and patron of the New York art scene.
Arslanian passed away in November and his family estate is now selling the impressive beach house for a staggering $45 million. But, the stylish gem has come onto dailyDEEDS’ radar before. A few years ago, it was available to rent in the summer for $975,000.
The diamond mogul bought this nearly two-acre property in the 1980s and commissioned Mark C. Matthews Architecture to design it in collaboration with Francis D’Haene of D’Apostrophe Design. Meticulously done, it took almost 10 years for the 7,059-square-foot residence to come to life. Per the listing, it was crafted to be a private family getaway but also to have a gallery-like quality so Arslanian could display pieces from his extensive art collection. He owned works by Basquiat, Keith Haring, Warhol, Jeff Koons and Julian Schnabel. You can quickly see how the large walls are intended for artful use, such as in kitchen.
One could call the home a brilliant emerald-cut with its boxy, clean-lined architecture. It looks polished and sleek from the outside, while glass-clad spaces inside encourage you to take in the oceanfront scenery at every turn. There are seven bedrooms for welcoming family and friends, plus luxury perks like a three-story elevator, a heated saltwater pool, and a rooftop that can still be customized. With expansive balconies and an outdoor shower, too, you can practically live outside in the summer. A quick walk past the dunes is all it takes to have a splendid beach day.
Making a splash before high season is even here, the ultra-pricey modern is up for sale with Kyle Rosko and Keren Ringler of Douglas Elliman.
