British Real Estate Tycoon Seeks $75M for Splashy Bahamas Mansion

Real estate tycoon, Christian Candy, and his wife, Emily Crompton-Candy, are selling a waterfront Bahamas residence for a whopping $75 million. Christian, along with his brother Nick, is a co-founder of London-based luxury real estate developers Candy.

Set within the luxurious Albany resort, if the impressive waterfront estate isn’t enough, member-only restaurants and bars, an 18-hole golf course, tennis and paddle courts, and an equestrian center are all readily available. The couple and their two children have reportedly lived in the Bahamas since 2020, per Tatler. According to Mansion Global, the Candy’s purchased this property in early 2021 for roughly $40 million and made it a “pandemic project,” giving it a substantial renovation and redesign. They named it Lion House after their late dog and intended to live here, but have decided to build a home from scratch closer to the resort’s equestrian facilities.

This isn’t your average beach bungalow. It boasts 20,000 square feet of living space in total, with the roughly 9,300-square-foot main house holding five bedrooms, with a large primary suite that includes a dressing room and private office. Other spaces include a playroom, cinema room, family kitchen, and two living areas. It also features a children’s art room and dance studio.

Lion House holds two guest wings—because who wouldn’t want to visit this dream oasis? The first is a two-bedroom suite with living areas. The second is a one-bedroom suite with living areas and two additional staff bedrooms. Outside, the swimming pool and beachfront garden with dining capacity for up to 36 people boast mesmerizing ocean views.

“This exceptional house is a record price for a single home in the Bahamas. It is beach front with fabulous ocean views as well as benefiting from being on the marina too,” says Jonathan Hewlett, chairman of Savills Private Office.

Christian Candy is no stranger to record-breaking listings, though. After all, Candy London often makes splashy headlines with their ultra-luxurious properties. In 2021, the company asked £175 million for a penthouse at One Hyde Park, making it the priciest home for sale in London at the time, according to Mansion Global.

Savills, Knight Frank, and Callenders Realty LTD. hold the pricey listing.
