Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas Just Listed Their Awe-Inspiring Hudson Valley Estate

Once again, the Hudson Valley real estate market has revealed a cool celebrity home to explore. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, who are also known as longtime residents of Bermuda, just listed their Irvington, New York estate for $12 million. Longmeadow, as it is called, spans 12 acres and is centered by a spectacular Georgian-style manor dating back to 1929. The Wall Street Journal reports that Zeta-Jones picked up the scenic property in 2019, spending $4.5 million on it.

From the exquisite landscaping to the blissful views, the setting impresses long before you step foot through the door. Once you do enter the 11,653-square-foot mansion, a blend of antique and contemporary elements begin to catch the eye. As the listing states, the historic abode has been “painstakingly restored in a modern aesthetic,” which is perhaps most apparent from the rear exterior. A series of arches and large steel casement windows provide subtle trendy flair underneath the Georgian red brick facade dressed with black shutters. This updated lower level holds the gym and 21-foot indoor pool, so one can work out with the lush hills and river in sight.

Considering the sellers known a thing about getting red-carpet-ready, some buyers may be most interested in seeing their dreamy primary suite. It has a stunning bathroom with a fireplace, as well as a glossy, black dressing room/closet. Beyond this sanctuary, there are seven more bedrooms, as well as gracious spaces like the 100-foot terrace and the oak-paneled library ideal for unwinding or entertaining.

The A-list couple could easily host glitzy events here or hideaway and enjoy peace, all while being 45 minutes from New York City. According to the WSJ, they recently hosted a campaign party for President Biden on the property and are mainly selling now that their children have left the nest. Spending more time in Bermuda and Europe is on the agenda for the duo, per what Zeta-Jones told the publication.
