Andrew Kotchen
Andrew Kotchen is a founding principal at New York City-based architecture and interior design firm Workshop/APD, established in 1999. His design philosophy, rooted in the belief that a well-designed home fosters clean, modern living, enhances his ability to solve a variety of design challenges with a timeless aesthetic. His design decisions are informed by the environment of his project sites thus enabling him to apply his process to a variety of typologies and geographies. With projects spanning across the country, Andrew has an extensive and varied portfolio featuring sleek urban lofts, luxurious family homes, high-end multi-family developments, and trend-setting restaurants.
Andrew earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Lehigh University and a Master of Architecture from University of Michigan. He has served as a visiting professor and critic at multiple institutions and has lectured on the topics of sustainable, local, and modern design.
