Clarins Heiress Lists Chic Notting Hill Home with French and Scandinavian Flair for $8M

Claire Courtin-Clarins, an heiress of Clarins and the company’s Philanthropic Ambassador, is selling her Notting Hill residence for £5.959 million GBP, roughly $8 million USD. Her grandfather, Jacques Courtin-Clarins, started the skincare and beauty company in 1954 in Paris. Later, her father furthered the brand and brought it to 154 countries, and today her sister is the company’s director. “We are a small family group. Everyone [is] involved with love,” shares the seller.

Love was also infused into this dreamy London dwelling as she designed the interiors herself. Courtin-Clarins studied fine art, graphic design, architecture, and urban planning and has master’s degrees in interior architecture and design and sustainable urban planning, according to Forbes. She brought all that knowledge to this bright oasis just off the iconic Portobello Road.

“I get my inspirations from my grandmother, Malou, and growing up in Provence in the South of France, and I’m also inspired by Norwegian aesthetics,” Courtin-Clarins told Mansion Global. A mostly neutral color palette unfolds across the main living spaces of the three-story residence and in the primary suite, putting the emphasis on the clean, Scandinavian-esque wood touches and furniture shapes and textures. However, neutrals don’t dominate everywhere. A butter yellow kitchen, floral wall coverings in the bedrooms, and playful tile selections bring unexpected splashes of color to the 2,292-square-foot floor plan.

There are four bedrooms and four full bathrooms—with ample storage for Clarins products and calming spaces where one can carry out skincare routines. To get some vitamin D when London weather allows, the home’s patio on the ground floor, balcony on the first floor, and roof terrace await.

Nick Crayson of Sotheby’s International Realty holds the chic Notting Hill listing.
