Sometimes you just know a listing is special, and that’s the case with this Water Mill offering. After all, what would you expect from a real estate broker and the former president of J. Crew? Power couple David Granville of Corcoran and retired fashion executive Jeffrey Pfeifle are selling their vibrant and stylish residence for $6.75 million. What’s more, the three-acre spread was even once featured in the pages of HC&G.
While you might expect a muted, tailored look comprised of shades of beige and preppy formality from the former head of J. Crew, this home presents surprising twists and collected decor. “I’d describe my style as eclectic,” Pfeifle told HC&G in 2014. “It’s not really identified with one period, although I’d say it’s traditional with a modern edge.”
The home doesn’t lose sight of its coastal locale—shades of blue fill the residence. The pool cabana does have a particularly nautical nod, with an anchor printed carpet and burgee flags lining the ceiling. “I love anything having to do with the water,” Pfeifle says. A great room with cathedral ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows look over the grounds, which include an apple orchard, large swimming pool, pool house, and outdoor kitchen allow for outdoor living at its finest.
The 6,000-square-foot footprint consists of seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. “I like the rambling aspect of the house and the fact that it’s so spread out,” Pfeifle says. “It makes it feel bigger than it really is.” The sellers made good use of the space inside and out, often entertaining on a large scale. After all, what’s summer in the Hamptons without a pool party or two? No matter what the occasion is, the property is well-suited to host intimate dinner parties, major events, or anything in between.
