A stunning lounge is coming to Tribeca! We recently had the opportunity to learn more during a first look at AKA Tribeca‘s construction site with Michael Buono of Mulberry Development. Described by Michael as the “Tom Ford of lounges,” this new swanky yet sophisticated lobby will surely draw in a crowd when it opens this May.
The exciting project is a collaboration of AKA ownership, Mulberry Development and Jennifer Post Design. A seasoned designer, Jennifer is working on the interiors of the project, which will include a custom bar, elegant furnishings and cozy spaces to relax, lounge, and meet. Some luxurious furnishings visitors and guests can expect include a Roche Bobois Embossed Brass and Carrera Marble Lamp, Oyster Leather CloverLeaf Center Piece 5-Unit Sofa, Custom Nico Yektai 8-Foot Concrete and Wood Bench, Cassina Scozia Leather Pelle Grigio Lounge Chair, Custom Jean de Merry Hilo Carbon Sempione Bench.

The lounge will also feature more than 20 kinds of tile and stone including lapitec polare bianco vesuvio, myorca linen limestone, and gray tundra marble. The space also includes Pure lights by Porsche Design Studio, custom glass dividers by Bendheim, a 14-foot absolute black marble custom bar with a two-inch bronze strip that creates a contiguous line down the bar, across the floor, up and down the double facing fireplace, through to the lobby and out the front door.
The space will also feature an epoxy resin piece created by artist Alex Turco as well as a floor-to-ceiling decorative art panel that will span the lounge’s east wall.
The lounge officially opens this May.
