Football Legend Drew Brees Readies to Sell His Majestic Montana Retreat at Auction

If you’re what NFL legend Drew Brees has been up to lately, this piece of real estate can give you a glimpse into his life after retiring from football. The famous quarterback for the Saints, who officially hung up his cleats after the 2020 season, will soon auction off this incredible 20-acre estate in Montana, where he and his family have enjoy quality time together.

Located in the exclusive Homestead Community of Whitefish, which affords great privacy, the tree-filled property is like something out of National Geographic with its wild, majestic scenery. But, it should also be revered for its man made elements. The estate’s custom home, which Brees created from scratch and affectionately calls a “treehouse,” is a modern take on a rustic lodge.

“This treehouse is a personal sanctuary where our family could escape to nature and enjoy the peace and freedom of the Montana wilderness while having access to all the amenities of the Homestead community at our fingertips when needed,” Brees shared. “We worked meticulously on every detail with Pete Nelson and Treehouse Masters to create a truly one-of-a-kind treehouse experience. This fulfilled a childhood dream. It’s a special place.”

Floating 15 feet off the ground, the A-frame home features a reclaimed redwood entry door, barn wood siding salvaged from Kentucky, and tons more wood inside, balance by huge walls of glass. It offers 1,700 square feet of living space and four bedrooms, as well as stylish outdoor living space like the terrace anchored by a gorgeous modern firepit.

Since the estate spans 20 acres, the next owner can definitely expand and create a larger main home. The ‘treehouse’ was, in fact, built to be a guest house.

The auction for Brees’ wondrous property will open on September 13th, with starting bids estimated to be between $2 million and $4 million. Concierge Auctions’ online marketplace is hosting the auction in cooperation with Sean Averill of PureWest Christie’s International Real Estate, who has the home listed at $7.5 million. Bidding will close on September 26th.
