Unofficially it’s known as the “Hat Luncheon,” the Central Park Conservancy’s annual spring fete. Every spring it offers supporters perhaps their only annual chance to show off beautiful bonnets. Despite the Wednesday rain, more than 1200 people jammed into tents set up in the Conservancy Garden, brims bouncing as they greeted each other with cautious, collision-avoiding air kisses.
