If you’re in the market for a celebrity NYC home, Hilary Swank is looking to part with her downtown Manhattan apartment for $6,685,000. As a movie star, it never hurts to have a pad in the city. The award-winning actress has starred in works such as The Next Karate Kid (1994), season eight of Beverly Hills, 90210 (1997-1998), Boys Don’t Cry (1999), P.S. I Love You (2007), and New Year’s Eve (2011). More recently, the celebrity has dabbled in producing.
The two-bedroom, two-bathroom home sits in the West Village’s Superior Ink Building, a Related property completed in 2009 and designed by architect Robert A.M. Stern. Swank is not the only notable name to have resided in the luxury building on West 12th Street. Fashion designer Marc Jacobs, NASCAR driver Jimmy Johnson, and Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill and his supermodel wife Lily Aldridge have all resided here. According to Curbed, Swank purchased her unit in 2010 for $3.5 million and hired interior designer Mark Zeff (whose works span residential, commercial, and retail spaces).
The 16th-floor unit boasts stunning views and totals 1,441 square feet. “I feel comforted in smaller spaces. They’re more nurturing,” Swank told Elle Decor in 2011. It was also revealed that the actress’ primary residence at the time was a West Coast residence. However, this listing was not the 49-year-old’s first West Village address. She previously owned a townhouse in the sought-after Manhattan neighborhood.
Chris Kann and Jennifer Ireland of The Corcoran Group hold the swanky listing.
