‘How I Met Your Mother’ Star Lists 1920s Los Feliz Abode Full of Character

In L.A.’s historic neighborhood of Loz Feliz, where stars from Leonardo DiCaprio to Danny DeVito to Ashley Tisdale have owned homes, a new celebrity residence is on the market. The Spanish-style charmer dates back to 1928 belongs to How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor, who was the one narrating the show and telling the nine seasons-long story to his children. Radnor himself just got hitched and promptly listed this abode for $3.85 million.

Big life milestones, such as getting married, often have a way of making people rethink some things, such as their real estate portfolio and where they want to live. It wasn’t long after J.Lo and Ben Affleck got married, for example, that she sold her stunning Bel Air estate for nearly $40 million. While Radnor’s 3,591-square-foot house isn’t quite as opulent, it’s warm personality and lush greenery make it an enticing place to call home.

Last on the market five years ago, the dreamy dwelling strikes a cool balance with intricate, boho details and contemporary features. Radnor shared, “I loved how old and sturdy and special it felt, a beautiful gem right in the heart of Griffith Park.”

Kishani Perera designed the interiors, likely responsible for the custom-built shelves, refinished kitchen and bathrooms, new vanities, and updated hardware. Elements such as the grand fireplaces and vibrantly painted ceiling in the foyer may have existed here longer as they seem ingrained in the home’s very DNA.

In terms of what Radnor cherished about the home specifically, he told dailyDEEDS, “I loved that it felt like an oasis away from the chaos of the world. How quiet it was, how peaceful and creative I felt inside of it. That I could walk out my front door with my dog and within minutes be on some of the greatest hikes in the city.”

Someone new can now see how they feel at the four-bedroom haven. Fred Dapp of The Agency holds the listing.
