Inside a Gorgeous Greenwich Manor Defined by Its Glamorous, Unique Use of Marble

A visit to Italy, in which the team hand-selected stone from the Carrara mountains, was part of the design process.

Perched atop a gentle rise in Greenwich, this stately stone-and-wood home blends the charm of a classic English manor with a warm, livable interior. You might expect to walk inside and find traditional, formal spaces, but that couldn’t be farther from the reality.

In fact, the spaces exude inviting, contemporary glamour after a thoughtful, head-to-toe remodel. Dushi Marble and Granite joined the project through Gatehouse Partners, taking on the main kitchen renovation and the full transformation of the guest house. What began as a construction effort quickly evolved into a close creative collaboration.

The homeowners, experienced renovators with a sharp design sensibility, approached the process with a desire for something highly personal, detailed, and unique. Their vision embraced curved forms and integrated lighting—well ahead of trend—bringing softness and radiance to the home’s dignified architecture.

Paul Dushi, the company’s founder, recalls, “When I met with the clients first, they emphasized that they want the most beautiful and unique stone and wanted the project to be ‘fun’ and ‘exciting,’ and I truly believe it was fun and exciting on both houses. Slabs were specially ordered in Italy for them from the Calacatta Gold quarry in the Carrara mountains and I took a trip there specifically to select the bloc for the clients.”

Indeed, the home’s material choices and extensive use of marble are now its defining feature. Hand-selected at the quarry, Calacatta Gold Extra Extra Extra unfolds across the kitchen. Truly unparalleled, Dushi shared that it is one of the most beautiful pieces of this very prized material that earth can give.

Its warm, gold-veined character shapes the culinary heart of the home—flowing over the waterfall counter edges and complementing the wood finishes seamlessly. The sculptural Calacatta marble hood is a show-stopper of the space with mitered edges showcasing the depth and richness of the stone. The integrated lighting adds polish and modern refinement to each corner of this room as well.

Other spaces throughout the main house and guesthouse also got the royal treatment, dressed in special Calacatta marble variations that stand out and create a strong visual impact. The bathrooms hold treasures like a large, Calacatta Viola Marble sink and floor-to-ceiling Calacatta Extra Marble, while you can find beautiful recessed shelving with Calacatta Vagli Extra Marble in some hallways. The guesthouse, which is often used by the homeowner’s daughter, has an impressive kitchen with vaulted ceilings and marble aplenty that rivals most people’s main homes.

Balancing elegance with ease, this thoughtful project reflects Dushi Marble and Granite’s hands-on, collaborative approach—built on trust, shared vision, and attention to detail. As the team noted, hearing a client say “we trust you” is the foundation for creating something exceptional—and in this case, the result speaks for itself.
