Kathie Lee Gifford’s Coastal Greenwich, CT Mansion Lists for a Staggering $100M

Kathie Lee Gifford, a four-time Emmy-winning presenter known for her long run as a “TODAY” show host and one half of “Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee,” is seeking to sell her Connecticut home with a grand presence and history. Set on a 2.91-acre waterfront property in affluent Greenwich, the mansion clears up any question of where this celeb’s wealth stands. Gifford has listed her lavish estate for an incredible $100 million, parting with it now after moving to Nashville a few years ago.

This was the TV veteran’s main residence up until she decamped for the south. And, it’s easy to see why a household name and famous face would find refuge here. As well as being undeniably lavish for hosting VIP friends or large, star-studded events, the 13,163-square-foot mansion provides ideal privacy on a gated peninsula within Riverside’s exclusive Indian Head Association. Gifford and her family could spread out and indulge in uninterrupted leisure here—using the tennis court, pool, and dock for boating—while being a 45-minute drive from the Big Apple.

Besides the obvious coastal allure, these grounds also come with a story. The property was formerly occupied by Gilded Age railroad magnate Henry Francis Shoemaker’s compound and the estate still has the name Shoemaker gave his villa: Cedar Cliff.

When it comes to the residence you see today, it was built in the early 2000s and bears some of the design trends of that time. Darker wood details, which are timeless but also now more popular again, give some rooms a stately feel while abundant natural light and water views provide built-in airiness. Some highlights include the custom office, wine cellar, and home theater for up to 20 people. There are also eight bedrooms to check out, included a jaw-dropping primary suite.

Leslie McElwreath of Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing, perhaps destined for a billionaire buyer with an eye on New England.
