Retired MLB Star’s 2022-Built Estate with Its Own Baseball Field Is Oklahoma’s Priciest Home on the Market

When MLB World Series champion Matt Holliday retired in 2018, he chose to go back to his roots and settle in his hometown of Stillwater, Oklahoma. He also decided to build an incredible residence there. Now, his enormous, 136-acre property with abundant amenities is for sale for $12 million, making it the priciest home for sale in the state.

According to Mansion Global, the former left-fielder purchased the land in 2018 for $3 million and started to build the 7,500-square-foot home from there. It was completed in 2022 with an array of sports amenities abounding as well, including a professionally-lit baseball field, a putting green, an indoor batting cage, pickleball, and basketball courts. Certainly not your average family home.

The World Series champion and his wife, Leslee, worked with Team Effort Architect and Amber McCullough Designs to make sure each room in the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom house was as impressive as the next. Gucci wallpaper lines the walls of one space, and $3 million worth of custom furniture will be included in the sale. An outdoor kitchen and $2 million, two-level Caviness pool are further perks for buyers to eye eagerly.

“One of the things I’ve loved most about this home is the opportunity it has given us to gather people together. Some of our favorite memories here revolve around hosting college students and professional athletes for meals, conversation, and meaningful fellowship,” Holliday told Fox 2 Now.

Holliday spent 14 years in the major leagues, with his longest and most notable stint with the New York Yankees. Both of his sons have followed in his footsteps: Jackson Holliday was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2022 draft and Ethan Holliday went to the Colorado Rockies in 2025. With their children grown and away, the homeowners feel it’s time to move on from their cherished estate.
