North Ocean Boulevard in Palm Beach-adjacent Gulf Stream is a haven for Florida’s most enviable real estate. Last week, we covered a property listed for $25 million, and now another stunning address is on the market just a few doors down. Asking $17 million, the captivating compound was designed for heiress Lila Vanderbilt Webb as a winter getaway. The historical haven, soaked in references to the Mediterranean, is known as Miradero and seems almost cut from the earth of a seaside property in Greece. In 2014, Miradero underwent an extensive revision to deliver the Vanderbilt vision into the present—five bedrooms and 5.2 bathrooms are now included across the property’s three separate houses, totaling 7,058-square-feet of interior space. Original details suited to Vanderbilt’s vision are artfully entwined with the added modernity, however, including a poolside stucco fountain crawling with ivy and an intricate painted ceiling in the formal dining room. A boardwalk leads directly from the beach, beneath a dense roof of trees through which lights flits, to the pool, which itself is surrounded by lush landscaping by award-winning landscape architect Mario Nievera. A home gym and spa and sprawling outdoor seating arrangements round out the compound’s calling card. Candace Friis of Corcoran has the listing.
