NBA Star Ben Simmons Seeks $23M for His Cool Modern Farmhouse in Hidden Hills

Leave it to an NBA player to always think one move ahead and strike just the right timing. Almost a year after buying this swoon-worthy modern farmhouse in LA’s Hidden Hills, star point guard Ben Simmons is seeking to sell it for $22,999,999. The Australian pro athlete picked it up last July for $17.5 million, per the LA Times, and is seemingly shooting to make a profit while the luxury market is hot.

A lot has gone down with the seller since this property purchase. In a move he requested, Simmons was traded in February from the 76ers. Unfortunately, the star (now on the Brooklyn Nets) also suffered a back injury, which he is currently tending to.

With a state-of-the-art theater, “gym/recording studio/man cave space,” indoor Zen garden, 65-foot pool, fire pit, and more, this retreat would be a relaxing place to recover if Simmons changes his mind and decides to keep it. There’s even a guest house for hosting friends or staff. But, though these amenities entice, the 12,000-square-foot home’s effortlessly cool and serene style might be the best part for design enthusiasts.

Designed by Nobel, the seven-bedroom mansion is so “now,” a slam dunk for anyone in love with the modern farmhouse vibe. And, many are going for this, just look at the LA Rams head coach’s new digs or Kelly Clarkson’s customized former home. Rebuilt in 2021, some highlights include walls of glass, vaulted ceilings, Pietra gray marble, wood paneling, and pocket doors.

While in the past, affluent buyers may have waited out price cuts, today that strategy is risky. It’s entirely possible Simmons will walk away with a W, or at least that’s what agent Kate Newton of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties is aiming for with this listing.
