A sprawling 3,000-square-foot Greenwich Village apartment will soon be home to Ashley Olsen, one-half of the acting-turned-fashion-designing duo dubbed the Olsen twins. According to the Wall Street Journal, Olsen is in contract to buy one of four $7.3 million flats that make up the 37 East 12th Street property. In addition to the flats, the building also houses one three-floor townhouse and a 6,325-square-foot penthouse.
Olsen’s 2-bedrooom, 2.5-bathroom residence is located in an 1898 building that was once home to an art gallery, evident from the lofty 11-foot ceilings and abundant natural light. There is plenty of room for a fashion designer’s wardrobe in the master suite dressing room, and the master bathroom is lined with Calacatta marble. The open, airy living room, eat-in kitchen and spacious dining room feature chevron walnut floors and exposed columns. Even the powder room is museum-quality; its vanity is made from reclaimed marble from the Museum of Modern Art.
