Quirky Greenwich Village Pad Where Kate Moss Lived in the ’90s Sells for $12M

After originally listing in May of last year for $15.5 million, this Greenwich Village multi-family townhome has finally switched hands. Home to Kate Moss from 1994 to 1998, the historic structure also has had other famed past residents in its lifetime–think legendary writers and actors. Closing recently for $12,005,000, the property could be embarking on a new chapter.

Sitting a block away from Washington Square Park at 112 Waverly Place, the building is currently split into four rental units. Moss lived in the quirky, standalone carriage house hidden away from street view while dating actor Johnny Depp. The circa-1826 townhouse’s other former residents throughout the years include playwright Lorraine Hansberry, painter Everett Shinn, and actors James Spader and Fisher Stevens.

While the former celeb couple only spent time in the house out back, the property comprises 6,300 square feet in total. Perhaps the most defining feature of both buildings is all of the exposed brick that winds its ways up and around the walls. But, each of the units have its own sort of personality–whether that be cool and contemporary or traditional and quaint. The new owner may decide to keep the multi-family residence as is or convert it back into a single-family home.

In its current configuration, the address holds four bedrooms and six full bathrooms. The carriage house is actually a triplex, spanning 1,800 square feet and offering private outdoor spaces.

Randy Baruh of Compass and Meris and Kenny Blumstein of Corcoran Real Estate represented the listing.
