San Francisco 49ers Star Christian McCaffrey Asks $12.5M for Luxe Lake Norman Home

As the 49ers prepare for a huge game this week against the Lions to see who will go to the Super Bowl, star San Fran running back Christian McCaffrey is hoping for a different kind of win as well. The NFL player, who was on the Carolina Panthers from 2017 to 2022, just listed his last remaining North Carolina holding since changing teams. Fans can now buy his Lake Norman mansion decked out with all the bells and whistles for a hefty $12.5 million.

McCaffrey picked up his 11,831-square-foot lake house for $7.5 million in 2020, giving him a couple of years to enjoy it while living locally. Though he continued to use it after moving to the 49ers, he is selling now that he spends most of his time in the Bay Area, per a rep from The Agency.

The French-inspired manor dubbed Grand Lac Chateau was built in 2019 and designed by JJ Barja from Elite Design Group. Its imposing foyer, defined by the 60-foot turret ceiling, and its great room with a double-sided fireplace and sweeping lake views both serve as focal points of the home. Of course, the main outdoor spaces were just as thoughtfully crafted. Covered terraces with perks like fireplaces and cooking stations look out to the saltwater pool, spa, lakeside beach, and dock. On dreary days, the mansion’s lowest interior level is the place to be, however. It has something for every mood, offering a wine cellar, a sound-proofed home theater, a family room with a bar area, a music room, a sports lounge, and an exercise room.

Adding a little extra sparkle, McCaffrey’s boat (named after his fiancée, Olivia Culpo), side-by-side Wildcat ATV, jet ski, and golf cart are all included in the sale. Victoria Speer of The Agency holds the listing.
