A vintage table painted in high gloss white in the front entrance hall serves as a seasonal display for designer Joanna Buchanan. Gift boxes are wrapped in paper designed by Buchanan.
For Christmas, she adorned boxwood balls sitting in white urns with her collection of holiday baubles that clip into garlands and wreaths.
In the family room, Buchanan started with a bold Cole & Son orchid wallpaper and painted the fireplace mantel green. The chair from ABC Carpet & Home is covered in a Designers Guild velvet. Side table is from Dovecote. Buchanan’s husband salvaged the brass light fixture.
The designer sits on a Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams ottoman covered in a Designers Guild striped velvet.
A vintage painted cane-back chair and an Andrew Martin Pluto chair covered in an Osborne & Little fabric make for cozy seating in the reading room; side table is from Dovecote, trunk is from Pottery Barn. The hand-beaded stockings are from Buchanan’s collection with One Kings Lane.

“I wanted to own a bit more of the table,” says Buchanan of her growing collection.

A vintage brass lamp sits in the corner of the dining room. The table base was found on eBay and topped with a custom acrylic top. Acrylic chairs from Ikea surround the table.
Buchanan’s printed napkin, brass and glass napkin rings and Isi plates make a festive tablescape on a placemat from Terrain.
