The Iconic Flatiron Building’s First Apartment Comes to Market for $16M

One of the most famous New York City landmarks can, for the first time ever, be your home. Converted in a much-anticipated project by The Brodsky Organization and The Sorgente Group, the Flatiron Building has been reborn into a luxury condominium and is expected to be completed this fall. The first apartment just listed for $16 million, giving a peek into the splendor that’s been created within this beloved, Beaux-Arts beauty.

Originally designed by Daniel Burnham and built in 1902, the triangular structure was created for the Fuller Company. It’s been continuously in commercial use since then. That is, until it was sold at auction in 2023 for $161 million and this multi-year transformation began.

The Flatiron Building will now hold 38 residences and high-end amenities behind its iconic limestone, brick, and terracotta exterior with 1,000 new windows and restored architectural elements. Inside, the developers tapped Studio Sofield to craft all spaces with contemporary sophistication. For 11 South Home, the first unit listed, a 58-foot-long great room with 10-foot ceilings centers the 3,828-square-foot apartment. The Poliform kitchen is another striking spot with metal flush-panel cabinetry exuding a cool, futuristic vibe. It holds four bedrooms in total and the primary suite is, of course, the crown jewel.

The amenity areas are also eye-catching, but what else would you expect from interior rockstar William Sofield? Going a bit more playful where it felt right, the billiards room is dressed in green with a mix of textures while yellow furnishings pop in the hallways. They also designed the tranquil yet sleek wellness center with an expansive fitness center, sports simulator and lounge, a 60-foot lap pool, and a cold plunge and sauna for thermal contrast therapy.

While this was the first unit to launch on the market, more are trickling out and sales are officially underway. Corcoran Sunshine is representing all listings in this buzz-worthy, old-new building.
