At their home in East Hampton, newlyweds Mario Nievera and Travis Howe threw a tag-araw (Filipino for “summer”) pool party to mark the first anniversary of their August 2016 wedding. Nievera mans the grill, barbecuing chicken basted in a traditional Filipino marinade of garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, star anise, peppercorns, bay leaves, and fish sauce.

A yellow-and-white palette, also used for the couple’s 2016 nuptials, set the tone. Table settings included Aero placemats, amber glassware and Maxwell Ryan dinnerware from Canvas Home, and custom Camberwell Vase napkins and runners from Schumacher.
