This Lavish Ranch Just Broke the Record for Aspen and Colorado’s Most Expensive Home Sale Ever

It’s no secret that Aspen, Colorado is the winter playground for the rich and famous…Which is why it comes as no surprise that the mountain town’s real estate is stamped with steep price tags. A 60-acre property known as The Ranch at Owl Creek just broke records selling for a peak $77 million, making it the most expensive sale in not just Aspen but also in the state of Colorado. Though, Mansion Global reports that another Colorado estate in contract currently could overturn that state record soon.

The property boasts views of all four of affluent Aspen’s ski resorts, with Snowmass and Buttermilk only five minutes away and a 12-minute drive from the glitz and glamour of downtown. The mansion itself spans 12,500 square feet with eight bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and three half-baths. A swimming pool, two hot tubs, a workout pavilion, a wine cellar, and a movie theater also add to the allure.

Dennis Burns of Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty represented the mystery buyer in the monumental transaction. “It is always so rewarding assisting clients in discovering their dream property,” Burns shares. “This transaction, although on a grand scale, was that same experience of checking all the right boxes for the client with this ultimate ranch home.”

While Compass is unable to identify the buyer, it’s safe to assume that it could be anyone from a celebrity to a successful business mogul. The winter resort is the kind of place where vacation rentals cost $12,500 per night and names by the likes of Tommy Hilfiger (he sold his mountain-side home for $50 million), Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky (who listed their home for upward of $8 million in 2022), and Jerry Seinfeld are the norm.
