Top TV and Movie Producer Seeks $17.75M for a Snazzy New L.A. Showpiece

While the general public knows the famous faces from Seinfeld, When Harry Met Sally, and The Princess Bride, they may be less familiar with faces behind the scenes. Andrew Scheinman was a producer on all three of these beloved works and more, earning himself an Emmy win and an Academy Award nomination. It’s clear that he has the magic touch for creating enduring entertainment, but his skills also overflow into other categories.

Scheinman just listed an expansive L.A. modern completed this month. It’s asking a steep $17.75 million, which is hardly out of reach of some of the seller’s A-list Hollywood colleagues.

Meticulously planned and constructed over five years, 1835 Old Orchard Road was designed by the award-winning firm Rockefeller Kempel A.I.A. It has everything architecture aficionados look for in a cutting-edge modern, offering a mix of organic materials, swaths of glass, clean lines, and boxy forms. The foyer introduces its superb level of design and quality well. Stepping inside, a 28-foot-high, limestone-walled entry topped with skylights welcomes you. Walking further into the home, custom European oak flooring, Western red cedar siding/paneling, and immense mingle together to complement the exuberant green surroundings.

When you can peel your eyes away from the architectural beauty, the amenities quickly jump into the spotlight. There’s a 72-bottle see-through wine closet, a home theater with Dolby sound, a gym with a four-person infrared sauna, and a dreamy backyard made lively with fruit trees, an outdoor cook station including a pizza oven, a pool, and more.

Touring the six-bedroom manse, it’s no surprise it took five years to perfect it. Every element appears to have been thought through and painstakingly executed. David Kramer of Hilton & Hyland/Forbes Global Properties holds the celebrity listing.
