Wine and Dine

At Stonington Vineyards

Indulge your senses, escape the summer heat, and contribute to a worthy cause at Stonington Vineyards’ 15th Annual Wine Festival—a weekend full of music, wine, and food. $1 from every admission will be donated to the American Cancer Society, a national organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. The weekend kicks off at 11am on Saturday with musical guest Dan Stevens and the Fiery Band. Come with an empty stomach so you can enjoy the offerings from Kitchen Little, Voodoo Grill, The Pita Spot, and many other local eateries. Admission is $12 for adults, and free for anyone under 18 and Cellar Society members with a membership card. For the over-21 crowd, a tasting of all Stonington Vineyard wines and a souvenir logo glass is included with admission—but if you only taste one wine, make sure it’s the Cabernet Franc, Winner of the Connecticut Specialty Food Association’s 2011 Award for the “Best Red Wine Produced in CT.” Tours of the wine cellar will also be offered Saturday and Sunday at 12, 1, and 3 pm.  The festival will take place rain or shine July 16 and 17, 11am–5pm.  Visit stoningtonvineyards.com or call (800) 421-9463 for more information.
