Jimmy Choo Co-Founder Tamara Mellon’s Upper East Side Penthouse Sells at a Major Discount

We first told you about Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon’s Upper East Side penthouse in October of last year. Back then, the shoe mogul had just picked up an $18M spread at The Greenwich Lane and was more motivated than ever to unload her Carhart Mansion penthouse, prompting her to lower the price from $34M to $25M. It took 9 months, but that pad finally found a buyer at an even steeper discount: contemporary artist George Condo paid $19.8M for the 7,140-square-foot residence.

One of just 4 residences in its building, the 5-bedroom home greets guests in a center hall gallery that features herringbone oak floors. Beyond the gallery lies a sunken living room, which opens to a south-facing terrace framed by limestone columns. There is also a formal dining room with a wood-burning fireplace, a skylit chef’s kitchen and a library/media room with an additional terrace.

Compass’s Keith Copley and Trisha Goff represented the listing. 6sqft reported the sale.
