Amy Schumer Lists Beautiful Brooklyn Heights Townhouse with Aim to Move Back to Manhattan

It was only three years ago that Amy Schumer decamped from Manhattan, selling her splendid UWS penthouse and moving to family-friendly Brooklyn with her husband, chef Chris Fischer, and their son in tow. The pair purchased an incredible 19th-century Brooklyn Heights townhouse. Though the ravishing home has served them well, they just put it back on the market for $14 million with the plan of moving back to Manhattan. The reason is all-too-relatable: To shorten the commute to their son’s school.

Built in 1829 and boasting a grand exterior with sophisticated, restored interiors, the brownstone possesses authentic character you simply can’t recreate. It also has an unexpected cinematic legacy and was a film location for Cher’s iconic 1987 movie, Moonstruck.

Stepping inside, the 5,568-square-foot haven showcases exquisite moldings, inviting fireplaces, refined wallpapers, and rich woodwork. The heart of the home, the kitchen, exudes warmth with its abundant sunshine and rustic use of wood and stone. It also has a stunning LaCanche range, which seems to have pleased the chef of the house.

There are five levels in total, and five bedrooms. The size may be a dream for some, but Schumer and her clan eventually found it to be more than they needed. The comedian told the NY Post, “This is a home that is just ready for more people.” However, that doesn’t mean leaving is easy. In a recent Instagram post, she wrote, “[We] will miss it so much and loved our 3 years here.”

During their tenure, the sellers didn’t shake up the antique beauty too much but they did give it some love. They restored the roof, added new specimen birch trees to the garden, and installed a brand-new A/C system. Architect Michael Van Valkenburgh was brought in to replace the backyards patio with turf. Taking advantage of the green space, they also added a play structure and swing set for their son.

Karen and Kyle Talbott of Corcoran, and Adam Modlin of Modlin Group hold the celebrity listing.
