‘Captain America’ Star Chris Evans Seeks $7M for His Marvelous Hollywood Hills Home

Not many homes are superhero-approved, but this one is. Actor Chris Evans—or should we say Captain America—is selling his Los Angeles pad and it is quite marvelous. The spread is nestled in Mulholland Canyon, overlooking the city and ocean below.

The movie star has spent the past decade transforming the property into his ideal sanctuary and just listed it this week for $6,995,000. He is selling it now to move closer to family on the East Coast, with Scott Moore of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California holding the listing.

Evans paid $3.52 million for the home back in 2013, according to The Wall Street Journal, but seems to have dropped quite a bit of cash on the property since then. The actor worked with interior designer Stewart Gulrajani on the 4,599-square-foot home and made it a laidback yet luxe retreat. Neutral tones fill the spaces, while walls of glass allow light and majestic natural scenery to flood in. The primary suite boasts an ipe-wood deck, a dressing room, a steam shower, and a soaking tub for unwinding. It must have been a pretty dreamy setting for Evans to wake up in after making action-packed movies. There are also three more bedroom for guests, or an entourage, to take refuge in.

The grounds are equally inviting and effortless, but also poised for intense, superhero-worthy workouts. The property includes an additional building and a gym—where Evans trained for his recurring role. Landscape architect Timothy John devised the glamorous outdoor settings. There are plenty of outdoor entertaining vignettes for soaking up some hilltop sunshine, from the swimming pool and garden spaces to the dining terrace and fire pit.

The actor is selling at a time when many other A-listers are as well. You can check out Diane Keaton’s recently L.A. listing, Emma Stone’s Austin home, and Amy Schumer’s Brooklyn townhouse next.
