Connecticut is home to many famous faces, but you don’t always know it until their residences hit the market. Last week, for example, former NFL quarterback-turned-sports analyst Chris Simms listed his antique Greenwich estate known as “Charlotte’s Farm.”
Simms played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Denver Broncos, and the Tennessee Titans before ultimately settling down in the tony Connecticut town with his wife and kids. Now, they’re looking to sell their 300-year-old, timelessly charming backcountry spread on Round Hill Road for $8 million.
The four-acre farm dates back to 1725, was expanded in 1952, and was carefully renovated by the sellers recently with the help architect Sam Fitzgerald and John Desmond Builders. The main residence spans 3,669 square feet with six bedrooms and five bathrooms. Period details remain, including wide plank floors, exposed wood beams, and preserved fireplaces, while major updates like a contemporary white kitchen and chic bathrooms weave in modern luxury with ease.
The grounds include a transformed party barn, a pool, a pool house with a kitchenette, three horse stalls with a tack room, and paddocks. Adjacent to protected conservation land and with direct access to the Greenwich Riding Trails, the listing is a peaceful escape set among nature. “Being the steward of this remarkable home and property has been a true privilege,” the couple says. “Our family has shared so many unforgettable moments here, from leisurely trail rides with our horses throughout the neighborhood to enchanting holiday celebrations in the historic barn.”
Simms and his wife, Danielle, lived in Old Greenwich until 2019, when they traded in beachside living for a more pastoral property. They sold the Old Greenwich residence for $2.67 million, and, according to Mansion Global, paid $2.5 million for this spread. They wanted a larger property with space for horses. With this listing, however, the couple is planning to move out of Connecticut.
