Has Matt Damon Snagged the Priciest Penthouse in Brooklyn?

If the penthouse at The Standish, the luxury Brooklyn Heights Beaux-Arts building, closes for its $16.6 million listing price, the sale could set the record for the most expensive home sold in the borough.

And if sources at the Wall Street Journal are correct, the buyer could be none other than Matt Damon.

Damon, who is ranked among Forbes magazine’s most bankable stars, and his wife were previously spotted eyeing up the enormous 17,354-square-foot Low Mansion on Pierrepont Street in Brooklyn Heights but never sealed the deal.

Now, the Downsizing actor has his sights set on a six-bedroom residence that includes a private 3,366-square-foot terrace.

Earlier this year, dailyDeeds reported that the Clock Tower in Dumbo closed for $15 million, setting a new record. However, unless Damon charmed his way into a $1.6 million price cut, there’s a new record holder in town.

As Damon would say, “How do you like them apples?”
